A Long Overdue Makeover

Do you ever have those little things you save because they look like they would be useful for something?

I’ve been saving this box for years (and I mean YEARS). As I tend to do with a lot of things I figured it was a nice sturdy box and should be easy to makeover. Unfortunately I completely forgot about it, but thanks to a little spring cleaning over the weekend it was brought back into the light.

Old Box

It only took me about an hour from start to finish to recover the entire box. Not bad considering a lot of that time was spent waiting for glue to dry.

Of course I couldn’t resist using the new Precious Leathers Embossed Paper – Oyster White Iguana and decided to add a little extra interest to the inside with the Chiyogami – Paisley in Purple & Green

I love having that little extra detail on the inside of a box. I have a few old cigar boxes lying around that I think may get the same treatment.

  1. What type of glue did you use? I’m thinking of repapering a vintage train case with the Precious Leathers Embossed Paper and am testing out a swatch first.
