Holy Sh*t!!! That’s Paper?

I did a double take when I saw these sculptures from Kyoko Okubo. Meticulously crafted out of Japanese washi and no more than 12 inches high I can’t help but stare at how delicate and detailed her work is. There is such a dreamy fantasy feel to them that I love.

This last one is my favorite; the combination of lily pads and otters curled up in her hair is so beautiful and romantic.

Okubo calls herself a doll maker but I think the title Artisan fits her a little better.
